Cosplay!!! ^_^

Cosplay, short for "costume play", is the act of dressing up as your favorite Japanese animation (anime) characters. We attend anime conventions where we would show off our costumes and pose for pictures for the anime community. Serious cosplayers will try their best and pose and act according to their character's personality.

I love cosplaying. Cosplaying is a fun and expensive hobby of mine and my roommates. I am very glad my roommates are into doing this kind of thing as well, seeing as how it's more fun with more people and we can dress up together as characters from the same show.

This summer I attended Anime Expo held at the Los Angeles Convention center dressed up as Nami from One Piece. It was my first, really big convention and I had a BLAST. :D

The only other costume I have done in the past would be Rukia from the famous anime Bleach. I wore it to the convention held on campus, MikomiCon, back in 2007. It is a yearly convention mid September that takes over the entire USU. This year it will be held Fri, Sat and Sun at the USU on Sept. 19-21. I created their website BTW. ^o^

I hate css div layers.

I like tables. I can't help it. Div layers with css to define everything is fantastic. It's great when used right. But you know what. It's a PAIN going through ALL OF IT. Especially when I forget which css item controlled what. Watch me give up and just use tables. Because we ALL KNOW:

I vouch for this pie chart. 110%. T__T

Good Packaging! (Yay!) ^_^

Yan Yan
This is a Japanese snack of little biscuits/lady fingers. You open it up and it comes complete with little mini hold crevices filled with your favorite frosting dip, in this case a double dose of chocolate and strawberry. Mmmmm. Yum. This is a great packaging idea, as it allows you to dip as much or as little as you want. Double dip. Triple!!! It fits nicely into your hands and you can just bring it and eat it while wandering the streets! :D The design is very vibrant and colorful and it's just an all around fun and great idea. One of my fav snacks. AND. If I run out of the biscuits... I just dip my finger and eat the rest of the frosting. HAHAHAHA. I'm gonna get diabetes... -_-

Campbells Soup at Hand
Pop this sucker in the microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds and it is good to go! This is a wonderful invention. You remove the lid and pull off the (evil) metal lid and shove it into the microwave. Snap the red lid back on and you're ready to drink it on the go! It's never too hot where it will burn you (like coffee often does to it's unsuspecting consumers). Pretty filling for a little can. The design is nice. It has the red Campbell feel to it. "Soup at Hand" is done in a very fun typeface. The actual product itself has a curvature for your hand to easily grip the soup. It's fast, it's easy, you can bring it anywhere and drink it without burning your tongue off. Gets an A from me.

White-Out
I got this at a dollar store in Japan. It was seriously hyaku-en (100 yen) which is the equivalent of $1. Super duper cheap. Not as cheap as the ones you may be able to get over here, like 2 or 3 in a package. But still. It is Very very pretty. It has a gorgeous, sleek and modern look to it. But the part I love most of all about this product is the clear cap it comes with. You just attach it onto the top and it protects your white out strip from catching onto different things in your bag and tearing, or worse yet. It stops the white out stuff from accidentally getting onto your pretty new pencil case when it's shaking around inside. It's very lovely. :D I stocked up on those. haha.

Hippopotamus Bathroom Spray!!!
You know those Glade bathroom air freshener sprays we have in our bathrooms? The long cylindrical ones? Well no more! Meet our resident hippos!!!! :D They are the new equivalent!!! It is ADORABLE! You just stick them on your wall, press their tummy to spray. It shoots out of their head!!! Smells much nicer than the Glade ones to in my opinion. What else can I say? These are much better when compared with the old boring spray cans. It works great, it's convenient, and it's adorable! Comes in green for the boy's bathroom too! tee hee. I've currently seen a pink, purple, yellow and green version. :D I would like to see a blue one too.... They amuse me.

Bad Packaging >_<

Pepperidge Farm Cookie Assortments
At first glance the packaging is lovely enough. Unfortunately, form should definitely follow function. Most of my peeve concerns the functional value of a package. The assorted cookie set comes wrapped in a clear plastic and placed in the box. Unfortunately, once you open the plastic wrapper, there's no saving it. Despite popular belief, I CANNOT finish the whole box in one sitting. -_- Which begs to question, where the hell am I suppose to keep the rest of the damn cookies? I shove them back into the box, and carefully lay it down so the crumbs don't fall out. But it also doesn't stop the yummies from growing stale. Bad idea Pepperidge Farm. What were you thinking?

Ramune
Ramune is a type of soda that is fairly popular in both Japan and those who are fans of Japanese culture. It's pretty much a fruity soda. Real delish and comes in many different fruity flavors. The bottle is very unique as no one has ever done something like this before. What keeps the bottle sealed is actually a glass marble wedged into the opening. It comes complete with a green plastic opener which is nothing more than a round disk with a mini cylindrical bottom. You take that opener and SMACK it hard into the top of the bottle to pop the marble in. The bottle design is shaped so that it concaves in and catches the marble right in the middle. It cannot fall deeper in, and it cannot fall out. It just jiggles and tinkles around in there as you drink. The fun factor allows this drink to remain ever popular, despite the fact that this product is hella hard to open at times. That and this design provides you with significantly less of the drink than any other normal beverage. I NEED a flat surface in order to open a bottle, since I need to smack it with much force and gusto. Once, I tried to open it and I was smacking the marble in with the green opener. The green opener was stuck in the top of the drink and the marble was half way through. I let go and was trying to get a better angle when the marble popped back up, sends the opener flying out of the bottle, it bounces off the cabinet and hits me square in the forehead as my roommate dies in a fit of laughter. -___-

What keeps this product alive, however, is the fun factor. And it is, very very fun.

JoAnn Craft Essentials Color Spray Paint
This is definitely cream of the crop, worst of the worst. So bad that I don't even have the cap anymore to show you the horror of this product. SO! It is spray paint like any other, and it has an extra security measure on the cap to ensure children are unable to access it. There is a hole in the cap where you stick in a screwdriver and you have to pry the cap loose. That alone was a feat I was unable to undermine. If my roommate was not there, I would never have been able to open it. -_- That aside, I recapped the spray paint. BAD IDEA CHRISTINE! Next day, I was trying to open it, didn't wooork. So try HARDER. I shove my screwdriver in. Could not pry it loose. Gave it to my roommate. Could not pry it loose. Gave it to another roommate, could not pry it loose. My $8 aside, I really really NEEDED to use it. So I had to pry the hole, broke it. Pried all throughout the sides of the cap and stretched it as far as it would go, STILL COULD NOT OPEN IT. It took maybe 20 minutes of prying and cussing before I was able to break open the cap and get it out. As soon as it was open I threw that goddamn cap away, and I never ever wanted to see it again. What is the point of that security measure if you CAN'T RECAP IT EVER AGAIN?! What a load of bull. -_- And so there you have it. Worst EVER. The End.

Who woulda thought...

So. I've been researching the type of div/css coding blogger uses for its templates most of today. I've more or less got the concepts down so I'm gonna start designing my own layout soon.

Haven't eaten yet. I had some Chef Boyardee lying around and I figure, great! It's fast! Well. It utilizes those soda can types of openings. I recently cut my nails and I could not for the life of me lift up that pully tab to open the damn thing for my poor starving soul. T_T

And so I thought to myself. Man. If only I had that crazy tab lifting invention Joe showed the class this morning. Apparently the invention wasn't as far-fetched as I had originally imagined.

In case you were wondering or care for some odd reason. I got the thing open with a bit of wit and ingenuity (AKA knife to pry the tab loose). -_- You stupid thing. >:O

Testing plus Reminiscence

BLAH!

Wow. This is so nostalgic. I haven't maintained a blog since high school. I'm talking 1999 here. GEEEEEZZZZZ. This brings back memories. I planned on recreating a blog.... but this was like 3 years ago and I still haven't worked on it. haha. Real life got in the way. I remember my first blog was waaay back in the day where I had to go in and type everything out freehand and ftp it up everyday. lol. Then they invented pitasCOM. Blogger, LiveJournal and the like came a bit later.

But man. Blogger makes it SUPER easy as pie these days. You guys dunno how good you have it. hahahaha.
